    Suggestions

    Rinse thoroughly under cold water to remove dust or debris. Optional soaking combine 1 cup lentils with 2 to 3 cups water or broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer. Cook 15 to 20 minutes until tender and slightly mushy. Add salt at the end to avoid toughening the lentils.
